An honest comparison of the best Catholic dating sites for singles over 50, with pros, cons, prices we could verify and who should pick what.

Updated October 2026. If you are searching for the best Catholic dating sites, you have probably noticed that the list is short and the claims are big. This guide gives you an honest, plain-language look at seven options: four mainstream dating sites we know well, and three Catholic-specific services that we describe neutrally, using facts we checked on official pages and app store listings. It is written for Catholic singles over 50, but anyone who wants to meet a faith-minded partner will find it useful.

Disclosure: eHarmony, Christian Mingle, SilverSingles and Zoosk are our partners, which means we may earn a commission if you sign up through our links. This never changes our opinion or the order of this page. CatholicMatch, Ave Maria Singles and Sacred Spark are independent brands. We have no partnership with them and receive nothing from them.

The short answer: which Catholic dating site should you pick?

  • You want a Catholic-only community: look at CatholicMatch, Ave Maria Singles or Sacred Spark. Every member is at least nominally in your world, though the pool can be smaller where you live.
  • You want a large pool and a serious focus: eHarmony. According to the site, it has about 15 million members, a matchmaking system and a reputation for serious relationships.
  • You want a faith-based but broader Christian audience: Christian Mingle, which describes itself as faith-based and, according to the site, has about 15 million members.
  • You are over 50 and want to meet peers: SilverSingles, which, according to the site, is for ages 50+ and has about 11 million members.
  • You want to browse freely and see who is nearby: Zoosk, which, according to the site, has about 30 million members and is free to start.

How we looked at each option

A Catholic dating site is only useful if it helps you meet someone you could actually marry or build a life with. We looked at six things:

  1. Faith filters. Can you say you are Catholic, how often you attend Mass, and what you want in a partner?
  2. Community size. A perfect filter is no help if nobody within 100 miles is on the site.
  3. Age fit. Do people in their 50s, 60s and 70s actually use it, and does the design respect that?
  4. Cost and honesty about cost. What is free, what needs a subscription, and how hard is it to cancel?
  5. Safety. Profile review, reporting tools and verification.
  6. Tone. Does it treat dating as a path toward a lasting relationship or marriage, which is what most Catholic singles are looking for?

We did not give any site a numeric score here, because we do not have access to member data and we will not invent statistics. Where we quote a member count or age range for a partner, that is what the site states, and you should treat it as marketing until you see the local pool yourself.

Our partners, assessed for Catholics

1. eHarmony: best for serious, marriage-minded Catholics

eHarmony is our top US partner. According to the site, it has about 15 million members, a free profile and a compatibility-based matchmaking approach, and it is known for serious relationships. For Catholics, the useful part is that you answer a long questionnaire that includes values, and you can note your religion and how important it is to you. It is not Catholic-only, so you may meet Protestants, Jewish members or people with no faith at all. The upside is a much larger pool than any Catholic-specific site; the downside is that you will need to read profiles carefully. Read our eHarmony review for details, or see the eHarmony hub. For what eHarmony asks about faith and what we could not verify, see eHarmony for Catholics.

2. Christian Mingle: best for a broadly Christian community

Christian Mingle is faith-based and, according to the site, has about 15 million members, is open to ages 20+ and is free to start. It is not Catholic-specific, and some Catholic users find the audience skews Protestant or evangelical. If you are open to a Christian partner of another denomination, that may be fine. If you want a spouse who will go to Mass with you, you will have to filter carefully and ask early. Read the Christian Mingle review.

3. SilverSingles: best for meeting people your own age

SilverSingles is built for people over 50. According to the site, it has about 11 million members, offers matchmaking and is free to explore. It has no Catholic filter in the strict sense, but religion is part of the profile and the age focus means you are not wading through members decades younger. Read the SilverSingles review.

4. Zoosk: best for a big, casual pool

Zoosk is the largest of our partners by the site's own numbers, about 30 million members, ages 20+, free to start. It works best if you live in a large metro area and are happy to browse, and it is the least faith-focused of the four. Read the Zoosk review.

Independent Catholic-specific options (not our partners)

The three services below are not affiliated with us. We do not link out to their sites, and we describe them from public information. Always check their current terms and prices yourself.

CatholicMatch

CatholicMatch is the best-known Catholic dating service in the US. Its own website says it combines temperament profiling and advanced search through what it calls Match Portrait, and it describes itself as the largest Catholic dating site in the world. We could not verify a member count. Joining and building a profile is free; paid plans unlock more features, and descriptions of exactly what is free differ between sources, so check before you pay. As listed on the Apple App Store in October 2026, the premium plans were $29.99 for one month, $89.99 for six months and $119.99 for twelve months, with automatic renewal. Check the site for current prices, because promotions change them. App store reviews are mixed: some members report meeting a spouse, while others complain about inactive profiles and the cost. We wrote a full CatholicMatch review.

Ave Maria Singles

Ave Maria Singles presents itself as a service for devout Catholics who want a spouse who accepts what the Church teaches. Its site describes a one-time fee rather than a monthly subscription and says it aims to move people from online contact to in-person meetings quickly. We could not verify the price. The service seems smaller and more traditional in tone, which will appeal to some readers and feel restrictive to others.

Sacred Spark

Sacred Spark is a newer Catholic matchmaking app. According to its App Store listing, it is free to download with an optional Spark+ subscription, listed on the Apple App Store in October 2026 at $29.99 monthly, $99.99 for six months and $129.99 for a year. Check the app or the site for current prices, because they can change. Photos are blurred until a match, profiles can include audio or video introductions, and friends or family can suggest matches. Check that it is available for your phone before you rely on it. Read the Sacred Spark review.

Who should pick what

  • Widowed Catholics: consider a Catholic-specific site for shared faith and a mainstream one for reach. Our guide to Catholic widower dating covers readiness and family.
  • Divorced Catholics: mainstream sites let you be honest about your situation. If you are thinking about remarriage in the Church, read dating after an annulment first and talk to your priest.
  • Rural or small-town readers: a large pool matters more than a narrow filter, so start with eHarmony or Zoosk and add one Catholic site.
  • Not comfortable with apps: a website with a desktop version, such as eHarmony or SilverSingles, is easier than an app-first service.

Safety tips for Catholic singles online

Scammers target people of faith, and widowed and divorced people in particular. A few habits help:

  • Never send money, gift cards or cryptocurrency, however moving the story.
  • Be wary of anyone who claims to be a missionary, soldier or doctor abroad and who moves quickly to love and to private messaging.
  • Do a video call before meeting, and meet first in a public place.
  • Tell a friend or family member where you are going.
  • Do not share your address, bank details or parish directory information early.

Our guide to Catholic dating over 50 has more on meeting people through parish and diocesan groups alongside the internet.

Pros and cons of Catholic-specific sites

Pros: shared values from the first message, profiles that mention Mass attendance and views on the Church, and members who are explicitly looking for a long-term relationship.

Cons: smaller pools, especially outside big cities and among over-50 members; varied profile quality; paid plans that may be needed to message; and no guarantee that members live their faith the way their profile says.
